On August 13, 2020, Interloc Solutions released the Mobile Informer Server 5.8.6 Product Update. This update is recommended for all customers planning an upgrade to Maximo 7.6.1.2 now or in the future. Informer 5.8.6 works on all supported versions of Maximo, and a proactive upgrade of Informer during or in advance of a Maximo upgrade will prevent compatibility issues. Once the Informer upgrade is applied, no further action is necessary during Maximo upgrade.

One of the gurus there developed the process and program(s) required to do the work and the rest was, in a sense, history.

Inspections Work Centers debuted in Maximo 7.6.0.8 and have been improved upon in every Feature Pack release since then. Many people do not realise that they are typically installed automatically, and are ready for use with little effort. I am going to walk through the process of granting access to the Inspections Supervisor Work Center, but the process applies to any Work Center.

Maximo Inspections have been available to the Maximo community since 7.6.0.8. That first release was pretty basic, with little or no real Maximo integration. Since then, three more feature packs have been released and IBM has improved on the function and capabilities each time. The Maximo Inspections work centres are now a powerful tool that can be easily implemented and managed. The only problem, and the main reason they are not more widely used, is that they are not available offline. At least, they weren’t. Keep reading to find out more about Maximo Inspections and how you can now take them offline with Mobile Informer.

Many companies have embraced technology to improve their ability to manage their assets. The technical evolution may begin with implementing a formal Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, like Maximo, to replace their existing jumble of spreadsheets, clipboards, and post-it notes that emerged out of necessity to keep track of the assets in their world. At the far end of the journey, emerging technologies like IOT connected meters and monitors can automate data collection, enable sophisticated condition monitoring, and support predictive analytics to anticipate failures before they occur.
