Interloc is your one-stop shop for all your integration needs
Most of Interloc’s technical consultants are recognized systems integration experts. Interloc has mastered the MIF (Maximo Integration Framework), and we have developed our own interface adapters for commonly used applications.
Interloc develops new integrations, converts existing integrations to support upgrade efforts or interface expansions, and provides troubleshooting and support for integrations, including data migration for maximum data integrity.
Interloc has extensive experience developing Maximo interfaces and integrations across software platforms and industries, always beginning with a requirement analysis.
When systems that can only send or receive data as a batch need to integrate with Maximo, Interloc uses the MIF to collect data and exports it to an external system for successful integration.
When necessary, as when dealing with high-volume, low demand-data, Interloc is capable of successful Maximo integration by way of asynchronous communication.
In high-demand, low-volume data integrations, Interloc performs synchronous integrations, using the MIF’s capability to assimilate, in real-time, with external systems.
Maximo supports both query and post variations of REST, with either open or authenticated REST web services, and during integrations, Interloc utilizes this capability when necessary.
Interloc consultants possess valuable experience with enterprise adapters that aid in configuring Maximo integrations with external systems.
Interloc starts all Maximo integration projects with a requirements analysis workshop. This workshop:
Business needs then flow to the definition of the technical requiremenTS, where Interloc's technical expertise delivers a specific best practices approach.
The MIF supports real-time integration but there are real-world scenarios where organizations want to integrate Maximo with other systems that can only send or receive data as a batch. Usually these kinds of systems are older enterprise applications, home grown tools, or main frame systems.
In these cases, Interloc uses the MIF to collect all the real-time data that needs to be integrated, sending it out to external systems as a single batch. This can be done by way of database tables, flat files, fixed length files or XML files.
The MIF has the capability to integrate with external systems by way of HTTP post using JMS or JDBC queues. Usually these kinds of interfaces are the fire and forget variety since the user's experience in Maximo is not reliant on whether the data was sent out to the external system or not. These kinds of integrations are usually for high-volume but low-demand data such as procurement, inventory, or General Ledger. For many of our clients’ ERP applications, Interloc integrates with Maximo by way of asynchronous communication.
Interloc uses the MIF's capability to integrate with external systems in real time, sending and receiving data to complement and enhance the user experience. This includes real-time feedback on data sent to other systems or real-time lookup of information.
These kinds of integrations are usually for high demand and low volume of data. Synchronous integrations are ideal, but the appropriate error handling is necessary on both sides to capture any issues and ensure that the data is as good as guaranteed for delivery.
With Version 7, the MIF has the ability to communicate with other systems using the REST web services API. Where appropriate, Interloc uses this industry communication methodology. Maximo supports both query and post variations of REST with either open or authenticated REST web services.
IBM provides various enterprise adapters that can be used by the MIF to integrate with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle and other enterprise applications. These adapters help in configuring integrations with external systems without creating a log development burden within Maximo.
Current adapters available from IBM include:
Interloc consultants have experience with all of these adapters.
