In April 2014, Calpine went live with Interloc's next generation mobile solution for IBM Maximo, the Interloc Mobile Informer, experiencing a top-notch user experience.
To gain the substantial productivity gains mobility promises, Calpine knew they needed to have the right product on the right devices. After an exhastive search, Calpine turned to Interloc Solutions and Interloc Mobile Informer for Maximo product.
Calpine desired a work management application that ran on Android tablets. Their requirements were driven by simple use cases to conduct the following work management tasks in the field:
- Create work request
- View and update assigned work orders
- Enter labor hours on work orders
- Add work log entries to work orders
- Add failure reporting to work orders
- Issue parts to work order
- Capture photos as attached documents
Delivery and deployment occurred in April 2014 for approximately 40 maintenance workers, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive on the functionality provided by the application, particularly the intuitive and responsive user interface contributing to the overall usability of the product.
“We were very pleased with the initial Mobile Informer Work Order application, so we are continuing to expand our Mobile Informer footprint to other Maximo applications!” Tu Tran, Director of Information Services, Calpine.
As of the writing of this press release, Interloc is developing two additional mobile Maximo applications for Calpine – one for Inventory Management and one to bring a custom application for Outage Services Group to manage turbine major maintenance to the mobile device.
