Why I’m Excited About What Interloc Is Bringing to APTA 2026 TRANSform & EXPO

One of the reasons I’m looking forward to this year’s APTA TRANSform & EXPO is simple: my conversations are grounded in the realities of running transit.

Keeping buses and trains in service. Managing aging assets. Getting the right parts to the right place. Giving technicians better information in the field. Maintaining increasingly complex systems with limited resources. And, ultimately, delivering safe, reliable service every day.

These aren't abstract challenges for us at Interloc. We’ve spent years working strategically with transit organizations, including Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and AMTRAK helping teams use IBM Maximo to better support the people, assets, materials, and maintenance processes behind their operations.

That’s the intelligence and viewpoint we’re bringing to APTA 2026 TRANSform & EXPO 2026 at Interloc’s Booth 3648.

And what’s OUR view?

This year, I’m particularly excited because we have several new solutions, including agentic ai, that address challenges I hear about regularly from transit organizations.

Informer UX Suite focuses on the people actually doing the work. Technicians shouldn’t have to fight with technology to complete an inspection or maintenance activity. Our mobility solutions bring Maximo processes into the field in a way designed around how people work.

Asset Performance Management (APM) represents another important shift. Transit organizations have enormous amounts of asset and maintenance data. The opportunity is to use that information to better understand asset health, identify developing problems, and make more proactive maintenance decisions.

Informer EdgeSync addresses an issue that matters enormously in transportation: operations don’t stop when connectivity becomes unreliable. EdgeSync helps keep critical Maximo data available and synchronized across environments.

Cloud Solutions help agencies modernize and manage increasingly complex Maximo environments while improving performance, security, resilience, and continuity.

And then there’s interloc.ai.

This may be one of the most significant conversations we have at APTA.

Imagine an issue being reported and an AI teammate being able to research the asset and its maintenance history, help determine priority, recommend next steps, identify resources, and move approved work forward within Maximo.

That’s the idea behind moving Maximo from a System of Record to a System of Action. interloc.ai is built specifically for Maximo and introduces governed AI agents designed to help maintenance and operations teams turn information into action—not simply generate another answer or dashboard.

Come Talk Transit With Us

Having worked with transit organizations, I know there isn't a single technology that solves every maintenance challenge.

What matters is connecting the right technology to the way your organization actually operates.

So if you’re attending APTA, I encourage you to bring us a challenge.

Tell us what’s slowing your maintenance teams down. Tell us where your Maximo environment could work harder for you. Tell us what you’re trying to accomplish with mobility, cloud, asset performance, resilience, or AI.

Then let’s talk about what’s possible.

Come see us at Interloc Solutions Booth 3648. I look forward to seeing colleagues from across the transit industry, meeting some new ones, and talking about where transit asset management goes next.
