Posted: 25-Jul-2010 GIS/ESRI developer for a long term project in Ottawa, Canada. The Developer should be comfortable working closely with project managers, technical staff and other team members to deliver GIS solutions to client with responsibility for deliverables and schedule. Prior project experience with Maximo and/or ERP systems highly desired. Individual responsibilities include:
*Participation in user requirements gathering
*System architecture design and development including technology selection, client or client/server based solution, database selection, security model, infrastructure upgrades, etc.
*Database design and development including database model, configuration, data migration, security and performance tuning/monitoring.
*Application design and development including user interface design, prototyping and development.
*Application testing including unit, system and integration testing.
*Documentation of system including user, technical and maintenance documentation. Skills & Experience Required:
*Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
*Prior project experience with Maximo and/or ERP systems highly desired.
*Strong system/solution architecture skills.
*Object oriented design
*ESRI*s geodatabase including relationship classes, topology, networking, versioning, etc.
*ESRI ArcGIS technologies including ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and ArcObjects.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Project critical competencies: result driven, problem solving, priority setting, customer focus, technology design and planning.
*Experience with various programming languages include
o ESRI / ArcGIS
o .Net
o VB Script
o Visual Basic
o Visual Studio Development Tools
o SQL
o ASP
o Crystal Report Development Tools
